“People are people”🙎🏻♂️🙎🏿♂️🙎🏽♂️
If more people lived by this quote, our world would be a better place. ✨
Summer of ‘69 was my first book by @elinhilderbrand and it definitely won’t be my last. Through a story of family, relationships, race, hardship, and adolescence, she effectively brought the characters to life and made me feel like I time traveled to the summer of 1969. I felt truly immersed in the story of the Levin/Foley family and all of the changes that summer brought for not only their family, but the nation as a whole. It was so interesting to read about the historical events during that time and what life was like back then. The author’s note at the end actually made me like the book even more – she explains her reasons for writing the book and why she used certain aspects, which I found intriguing!
